No, you do not need a referral to see one of our friendly team members. We may liaise with your treating medical team but only with your permission.

What if I am a WorkCover, Transport Accident Commission (TAC) or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) client? Are you able to treat me at Forefront Physiotherapy Geelong?
Yes, at Forefront Physiotherapy Geelong we accept WorkCover, TAC and DVA clients. Forefront Physiotherapy Geelong are experienced in seeing a wide range of work and traffic related injuries. We liaise directly and often with insurance companies to ensure our clients are receiving the best treatment possible. For your initial appointment you will need to bring either your claim number or appropriate cards to present to our staff. Please ensure you also bring any relevant paperwork and scans.
All appointments at Forefront Physiotherapy last 30 minutes. We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment to ensure you can find us and complete any appropriate paperwork prior to commencing your session.
We don't believe in charging more for your initial appointment as we believe all appointments are just as important. All private consultations at Forefront Physiotherapy are therefore priced at $108.00 with billings to be paid at the time of your appointment. Rebates may be available through your private health insurer.
We accept TAC clients and Workcover clients. The price for these appointments varies depending on the length of your injury and the type of appointment. Please feel free to call our team to discuss this further.
Yes, at Forefront Physiotherapy we accept a wide range of private health insurances. Your rebate will be dependent on your individual policy.
Our clinics have HICAPS which allows you to claim your health fund rebate directly, leaving only the gap of your consult to pay. Please ensure you bring your health fund card with you to each visit.
Forefront Physiotherapy are a Medibank Member’s Choice provider. If you are a member with Medibank you will be eligible for a greater rebate at our clinics.
Yes, Medicare does refund some appointments. Depending upon your circumstances, you may be able to access Chronic Disease Management from your treating practitioner or GP. This will enable access to a certain number of physiotherapy sessions at a reduced cost. Please be aware a gap payment still applies. Ask your treating practitioner if the Chronic Disease Management applies to you.
On attending your appointment please bring any relevant referral letters and test results such as X-rays, MRI scans, pathology and surgical reports. This will enable our team to gain a better understanding of your presenting complaint and it will help us to work efficiently in your treatment and recovery.
During a physiotherapy session, your treating practitioner may need to complete a physical and/or objective assessment. This is where they physically examine the injured area and test your movement through the joint/area. Dependent on the body part needing to be treated, Forefront Physio suggest you wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing. If you are seeing the team for a lower leg or knee injury, we suggest bringing a pair of shorts to change into.
Each individual is different and injuries present in many different forms. Recovery times and responses to treatment may vary between individuals so we are unable to give a specific number. Your treating physiotherapist will be able to provide more insight upon assessment.
At Forefront Physio Geelong we don’t believe in over treating your condition, we are honest and aim to assist you as quickly as possible.
Please let us know by calling 03 4227 2990, even when calling after hours, you will be given the option to leave a message. We appreciate you letting us know rather then not attending. Cancellations within 24 hours or not notifying our team at all may incur a $50 cancelation fee.
